The Why

Our history

According to the Eswatini Central Statistics Office (CSO), the national population is projected to be 1,187,956 in 2023 of which 43 percent are children under the age of 18. That equates to 510, 821 children. Most of the population is concentrated in rural areas (75 percent) and is dependent on subsistence farming for survival. Approximately 59 percent of the population lives below the national poverty line and 20.1 percent are in extreme poverty. The poverty is skewed towards rural areas rather than urban areas.

Child poverty limits children’s access to vital resources, including nutrition, healthcare, education, learning and skills development, social services, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), which prevents them from achieving their full potential. Children's development, learning capabilities, and academic performance are adversely affected by exposure to violence, leading to consequences such as low self-esteem, emotional distress, and depression. In Eswatini, a significant 79 percent of children aged 1-14 have recently encountered physical violence, including instances of beating, hitting, and slapping. Physical violence is higher among children in rural areas (80.5 percent) than in urban areas. Approximately, 1 in 20 females (5.5 percent) experienced sexual violence before the age of 18 and home is the common location of the first incident of sexual violence for both female and male victims.

We plan to continue what we have done in the past and build from there, to accomplish this we will seek out more opportunities to encourage girls from more schools in rural areas and Manzini. To have structured programs whereby girls can attend educational life skills training, emotional well-being classes, mentorship programs, and worthy events. We will also accomplish this by collaborating with other entities that align with our intent, such as NGOs that focus on girls and women, Hospitals ( nurses, midwives, etc), Mental health advocates, banks (education), etcetera

The How / Future

We have accomplished this by:

1. Hosting “worthy” events quarterly,

2. Going into schools and speaking with the girls and women and providing them with self-care packages

3. Providing pregnant teenagers with education and care packages

4. Teaching skills training to women in rural communities and

5. Starting a mentorship program that connected University graduates from the USA with University students here in Eswatini

The How | Past

To increase knowledge and understanding of who they are as females, and how to prioritize their wellbeing, education, and self worth. To promote socio-emotional development, which provides the foundation for understanding, managing, expressing, and dealing with their feelings and emotions. To explore strategies for providing education through the development of self-awareness, skills, and mentorship. To help them gain awareness

Our Intent

01. Strengthen all females through encouragement and empowerment, by showing them love for themselves and others,

02. Provide a safe and effective platform for girls, and women to express themselves and understand who they are as a child of God.

03. To help them grow in excellence and understand the value of being women.

Mission

Women of Wisdom, Worth, and Wealth, 3W is guided by the founder of the NGO Seven Pillars Community Development Center. SPCDC is a nonprofit grassroots organization that changes lives by strengthening the family, through a multitude of services. The goal for SPCDC is to stimulate growth in target areas with a focus on community and economic development. Women of Wisdom, Worth, and Wealth currently fulfills the mandate of four of the SPCDC pillars, Enrichment, Youth, Self-awareness, and Health and Wellness. This is accomplished by going to rural communities, and schools, partnering with NGO’s, and hosting events for females.
